Opened in 2007, the park has 22 gardens, that sum more than 800 species of plants, and inspiration of gardens from various parts of the world like Spain, France, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Mexico, Canadá that integrate the landscape, dominated by the mountain native woods.
The Amantikir is a realisation of the landscaper Walter Vasconcelos, with more than two decades elaborating gardens for many purposes, he decided to give the visitors and the jordanenses a space for that contact, inspiring on the great international gardens, like the Butchart Gardens, on Ilha Victoria (Canadá), the Parque Keukenhof in Lisse (Netherlands) and the island of Mainau on Lago Constança (Germany), that together sum more than 3 millions of annual visits.
During the trip, the visitors can check out: Jardim de Patamares, Jardim de Coníferas, Jardim de Capins, Jardim Árido, Jardim de Raízes, Jardim Inglês, Jardim de Pedras, Jardim Alemão, o Labirinto Clássico, Tapete Verde, Lago das Pontes, Bosque Outonal, Paredes de Toras, Espelho d’Água, Pequeno Jardim Francês, Jardins de Salzburg, the Ruínas and Lareira ao Ar Livre.
Vasconcelos’ project is, still, based in 3 steps: diversity, sustainability and education. Through diversity, offer the acceptance of all ways of life already existent in the park (insects, native plants, lichens, mosses, birds) beside receiving new species that can sum to the beauty of Amantikir. The sustainability of the park comes by reusing materials that hasn’t been used in constructions, like landcape plants that weren’t used in private properties for many reasons, aiming to cause the smallest environmental impact. Summed to the absorption of hand labor next to the park offering courses and capacitation; strengthening the culture through Amantikir’s legend. And less (but not least), education, that is the transmission of the ecological values to all generations, preventing and maintaining life on the planet.
Each season of the year, the Amantikir Garden offers a true show, like the months of Spring, when the flowers show their exuberance, but on Fall, Bosque Outonal has a show with the most diverse colours of the leaves, that prepare to fall, announcing the Winter.
